Now this was very sad to see...

Eugene Thomas Cunningham

The is the Ivory Burning Site in Nairobi National Park. It is a monumental landmark that was established in 1989 by President Daniel Arap Moi when he oversaw the burning of over 11 tonnes of ivory seized from poachers and illegal ivory traders. This has been a continuing activity with another major one being in 2016 when president Uhuru Kenyatta supervised the burning of over 100 tonnes of ivory at the same site. All this is done as an act of solidarity for Wildlife Conservation( especially Elephants and Rhinos) and Fight against the Ivory Trade.

The shards and ashes are collected and pilled as seen in the photos. I was amazed by this heroic act and relentless efforts Kenya is putting into to conserve the Wildlife. It is indeed a great course that the world has and is still needed to embrace and support greatly.
